Updating Student Information
At the beginning of each school year, PACA asks parents to fill out a student information sheet and a medical form for each student. On August 6, you received an e-mail reminder with a link containing the new online forms. This e-mail was sent to the electronic address where you receive your monthly tuition bills. Several families have not filled out the electronic forms for their children. The information requested is extremely important for student safety. Please fill out the forms by Friday, August 14, at the latest. The school will no longer send hard copies of the forms home. If you have questions or need assistance to fill out the electronic forms, please contact Fatima Leitão in the school office.

Student Covenants
Parents, signed covenants that state that your child and family agree to abide to the philosophy, standards and guidelines of the 2015-2016 parent/student handbook were due on August 7. If you have not signed and returned this form, which was inside your family’s copy of this year’s handbook, please do so by tomorrow, August 14.

Open House
The administration looks forward to introducing  our teachers to parents at the Pre-K through 11th grade orientation (Open House) this Saturday, August 15, starting at 9 a.m. On this day, our families will have the opportunity to meet their children’s teachers, see their classrooms and hear the teachers’ expectations. Childcare will be provided for PACA students in Pre-K1 through 5th grade. Donuts and coffee will be served in the cafeteria at 9 a.m. There will be two sessions in Elementary classrooms. The first one will start at 9:30 a.m. The second one will begin at 10:15 a.m. There will be a meeting for all middle school parents in the gym at 10:15 a.m. The general session for all parents will also be in the gym, at 11 a.m. The middle school teachers will have their sessions in their homerooms at noon. There will be a high school session for parents in 9th – 11th grade in classroom H6, also at noon. Food will be provided in the classrooms during these sessions.

Picnic
Following the Pre-K – 11th grade orientation, we will have our annual community picnic, from 12 to 4 p.m. This event is for PACA families only. There is no admissions charge. The school will provide a picnic lunch, organized games for children and parents, rides, sports and fun.

News from the Guidance Office

Sports
Our new practice schedule is in effect for varsity and JV teams. If you do not know when your child practices, please look up the schedule on the Edline sports page. Please keep in mind that this schedule is tentative, and will only be in effect during the month of August, after which all teams will return to their normal schedules.

All student athletes who did not see the doctor on campus for sports physicals need to bring a doctor’s note stating that they are able to play sports without restrictions to school by August 14.

Students received the Athletic Handbook this week. They did not come with a covenant for parents and athletes to sign. Please read the handbook with your child and send Mrs. Buchanan an e-mail or a note saying you have read and agree with the handbook. We apologize for the inconvenience.

If your child plans to go to the tournament, please order a warm-up by August 14. On that note, if you would like to sponsor athletes and/or coaches that cannot afford their warm-ups, please let Mrs. Buchanan know. Your generosity will be greatly appreciated!

If you have any questions about PACA Athletics this year, Mrs. Buchanan will speak to middle school and high school students and parents at Open House. She will share important information and answer any questions you may have.

We will have our first SPHSL games next week! The varsity soccer teams will play at St. Paul´s on Tuesday, August 18, at 4:30pm. The varsity basketball teams will play at home against St. Paul´s on Friday, August 21. Come support our teams!

Atualizando Dados
