Would you like to pray for PACA? Every Wednesday a small group of parents (fathers and mothers) have gathered to pray for PACA, for students, for families, for teachers and staff. Come join us!

Elementary Reading Contest  

3-2-1… “BLAST Off Into Reading!” The Elementary Reading Contest is scheduled to begin on Friday, September 30! Parents are welcome to join us for a morning full of reading, space, and fun activities! Students are also invited to wear a space or book character costume on September 30. Please note, school will be dismissed at 12:30 on September 30. 

Please see the Reading Contest Calendar for a list of special activities that will take place throughout the month of October!

Parents, come have lunch with us!  

Tables alongside of the Cafeteria are reserved for you and for staff. This way we can maintain the organization during the lunch period with the children and the school staff.  

Individual lunch costs R$ 25,00 and must be paid directly at the school's reception.

Parent, Teacher, Student Conferences (PTS)  

Parent, Teacher, Student (PTS) Conferences will be in-person on October 7. PTS Conferences this semester is required for all families. 2nd -12th grade students need to attend with their parents. We are using the on-line system “MeetTheTeacher”, which allows you to choose your own appointment times with teachers and then receive an email confirming your appointments. An email has been sent to schedule meetings with details. Any questions, please email [email protected] . 

Please be reminded that there will not be classes on the October 7 due to PTS meetings. 

Library News  

This semester, we will charge fines for overdue books (R$ 0,10 per day). Lost books will need to be paid for (cost of the book, multiplied by the current exchange rate, plus a R$15.00 replacement fee, as well as shipping). You will only be able to check out when all charges are paid for. 

Students will be able to check out during recess and while the library is open.  

Parents can check out when visiting the library or by putting books on hold in Destiny, the virtual library catalog, and as soon as it's sorted, we will email them to pick up the book at the library.  

To return the books, parents can drop them off at the front desk or directly at the library. 

Important: the bin to drop off the books at the front gate is no longer available.

3-2-1... "BLAST Off Into Reading!" O Concurso de Leitura do Elementary começará na sexta-feira, dia 30 de setembro! Os pais são bem-vindos para participar de uma manhã repleta de leitura, espaço e atividades divertidas! Os alunos poderão vir fantasiados no dia 30 de setembro, com “roupa espacial” ou do seu personagem de livro favorito. Lembre-se que os alunos serão dispensados às 12:30 no dia 30. Verifique a agenda do Reading Contest para a lista de atividade especiais que acontecerão ao longo do mês de outubro.

Os alunos do 2º ao 12º ano precisam comparecer com seus pais. Estamos usando o sistema on-line "MeetTheTeacher", que permite que você escolha os horários de reuniões com os professores e depois receba um e-mail confirmando seus compromissos. Um email foi enviado para que você possa agendar as reuniões. Qualquer dúvida, envie um email para [email protected] .

Neste semestre, iremos voltar a cobrar multa por livros em atraso (R$ 0,10 por dia). Livros perdidos também deverão ser pagos (custo do livro, multiplicado pela taxa de câmbio atual, taxa de substituição de R$15,00, e frete). Novos empréstimos só serão possíveis quando todas as multas ou valores em aberto estiverem pagos.   

Os alunos poderão fazer empréstimos durante o intervalo e enquanto a biblioteca estiver aberta.   

Os pais podem fazer empréstimos quando vierem à biblioteca ou colocando os livros em “hold” no Destiny (catálogo virtual da biblioteca), e assim que estiver separado, enviaremos um e-mail para que possam retirá-lo.   

Para devolver os livros, os pais podem deixá-los na recepção ou diretamente na biblioteca.  

Importante : a caixa para deixar os livros que ficava na portaria não está mais disponível.

We are glad to resume the Elementary Mothers' Tea. Meetings will take place in the classrooms from 3:30pm – 4:30pm Upcoming gatherings will be:

PreK – 5th grade Students please wear PACA dark green t-shirts. 

6th – 12th grade students may choose class color and wear clothing of their own choice, that fits within the PACA dress code. 

This year, we have organized the photos by day and by class. Please check which day your child's class will be taking the pictures:

Elementary Reading Contest  

3-2-1… “BLAST Off Into Reading!” The Elementary Reading Contest is scheduled to begin on Friday, September 30! Parents are welcome to join us for a morning full of reading, space, and fun activities! If parents or students who do not normally eat PACA lunch would like to join us for a special astronaut lunch, please use the Sympla link https://www.sympla.com.br/evento/special-astronaut-picnic-lunch/1718904 to register and pay for lunch. Please note, school will be dismissed at 12:30 on September 30.

Parents, come have lunch with us!  

Tables alongside of the Cafeteria are reserved for you and for staff. This way we can maintain the organization during the lunch period with the children and the school staff.  

Individual lunch costs R$ 25,00 and must be paid directly at the school's reception. 

Elementary Dismissal & After School Supervision  

Parents, please be prompt in picking up your Elementary age students from their classroom by 3:25 each afternoon. Students in grades Pre-K- 5th grade should not stay on campus after 3:25 p.m. unless they are involved in a school-supervised activity or under the supervision of their parents.

Parent, Teacher, Student Conferences (PTS) 

Parent, Teacher, Student (PTS) Conferences will be in-person on October 7. PTS Conferences this semester is required for all families. 2nd -12th grade students need to attend with their parents. We will use the on-line system “MeetTheTeacher”, which allows you to choose your own appointment times with teachers and then receive an email confirming your appointments. You will receive an email soon to schedule your meetings and details. 

Please be reminded that there will not be classes on the October 7 due to PTS meetings. 

Library News  

This semester, we will charge fines for overdue books (R$ 0,10 per day). Lost books will need to be paid for (cost of the book, multiplied by the current exchange rate, plus a R$15.00 replacement fee, as well as shipping). You will only be able to check out when all charges are paid for. 

Students will be able to check out during recess and while the library is open.  

Parents can check out when visiting the library or by putting books on hold in Destiny, the virtual library catalog, and as soon as it's sorted, we will email them to pick up the book at the library.  

To return the books, parents can drop them off at the front desk or directly at the library. 

Important: the bin to drop off the books at the front gate is no longer available.

Os pais são bem-vindos para participar de uma manhã repleta de leitura, espaço e atividades divertidas! Saída dos alunos do Elementary e Supervisão Pós-aula  

Pais, por favor, sejam rápidos em buscar seus alunos do Elementary em suas salas de aula às 15:25 cada tarde. Os alunos do PreK ao 5º ano não devem permanecer no campus depois das 15h25, a menos que estejam envolvidos em uma atividade supervisionada pela escola ou sob a supervisão de seus pais.

Conferências de Pais, Mestres e Alunos (PTS)  

As Conferências de Pais, Mestres e Alunos (PTS) serão realizadas presencialmente no dia 7 de outubro. As Conferências PTS deste semestre são para todas as famílias. Os alunos do 2º ao 12º ano precisam comparecer com seus pais. Usaremos o sistema on-line "MeetTheTeacher", que permite que você escolha os horários de reuniões com os professores e depois receba um e-mail confirmando seus compromissos. Você receberá um e-mail em breve para agendar as reuniões com maiores detalhes. 

Lembre-se de que não haverá aula no dia 7 de outubro devido às reuniões de PTS. 

Notícias da Biblioteca  

Neste semestre, iremos voltar a cobrar multa por livros em atraso (R$ 0,10 por dia). Livros perdidos também deverão ser pagos (custo do livro, multiplicado pela taxa de câmbio atual, taxa de substituição de R$15,00, e frete). Novos empréstimos só serão possíveis quando todas as multas ou valores em aberto estiverem pagos.   

Os alunos poderão fazer empréstimos durante o intervalo e enquanto a biblioteca estiver aberta.   

Os pais podem fazer empréstimos quando vierem à biblioteca ou colocando os livros em “hold” no Destiny (catálogo virtual da biblioteca), e assim que estiver separado, enviaremos um e-mail para que possam retirá-lo.   

Para devolver os livros, os pais podem deixá-los na recepção ou diretamente na biblioteca.  

Importante : a caixa para deixar os livros que ficava na portaria não está mais disponível.

3-2-1... "BLAST Off Into Reading!" O Concurso de Leitura do Elementary está programado para começar na sexta-feira, dia 30 de setembro! Os pais são bem-vindos para participar de uma manhã repleta de leitura, espaço e atividades divertidas! Um almoço especial também será servido, antes do final das aulas às 12h30. Saída dos alunos do Elementary e Supervisão Pós-aula  

Pais, por favor, sejam rápidos em buscar seus alunos do Elementary em suas salas de aula às 15:25 cada tarde. Os alunos do PreK ao 5º ano não devem permanecer no campus depois das 15h25, a menos que estejam envolvidos em uma atividade supervisionada pela escola ou sob a supervisão de seus pais.

Neste semestre, iremos voltar a cobrar multa por livros em atraso (R$ 0,10 por dia). Livros perdidos também deverão ser pagos (custo do livro, multiplicado pela taxa de câmbio atual, taxa de substituição de R$15,00, e frete). Novos empréstimos só serão possíveis quando todas as multas ou valores em aberto estiverem pagos.   

Os alunos poderão fazer empréstimos durante o intervalo e enquanto a biblioteca estiver aberta.   

Os pais podem fazer empréstimos quando vierem à biblioteca ou colocando os livros em “hold” no Destiny (catálogo virtual da biblioteca), e assim que estiver separado, enviaremos um e-mail para que possam retirá-lo.   

Para devolver os livros, os pais podem deixá-los na recepção ou diretamente na biblioteca.  

Importante : a caixa para deixar os livros que ficava na portaria não está mais disponível.

September 7 - Civic Ceremony  

On September 7, Brazil celebrates 200 years of its Independence.  

To celebrate, the classes will gather around the flagpole at 8:05am on September 6th.  

We will hold a civic act where we will thank God for Brazil, for bringing us to this moment, and for what He has already prepared for the future of our nation. 

The celebration will be quick, around 15 minutes. 

Parents are invited to participate.

PACA’s Pre-K and Elementary Parent Roundtable will be held September 16 in the Auditorium, from 8:15am – 10:00am.

Pre-K & Elementary Mother’s Tea  

Preschool and Elementary Room Moms are busy planning the class Mother’s Tea for this school year! It is a special time for moms to get to know each other, eat delicious snacks, and to encourage, and pray for one another. Please be on the lookout for dates and more information from your Classroom Mom soon! 

Covid Protocols  

We know that many protocols related to COVID have been relaxed or even extinguished, such as mandatory use of masks, distancing, acrylic barriers, etc. But we will not forget good hygiene practices which are important for everyone's safety! Students will continue to be encouraged to wash their hands, use the hand sanitizer that remains available in the classrooms, cafeteria, and other areas of the school. We ask parents to continue to encourage their children to maintain these good practices. 

MAP Tests   

Each year, students in Kindergarten through 8th grade take the MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) test. Middle School students will take MAP tests the week of September 5-13.  

Elementary Dismissal & After School Supervision  

Parents, please be prompt in picking up your Elementary age students from their classroom by 3:25 each afternoon. Students in grades Pre-K- 5th grade should not stay on campus after 3:25 p.m. unless they are involved in a school-supervised activity or under the supervision of their parents.

Library News  

This semester, we will charge fines for overdue books (R$ 0,10 per day). Lost books will need to be paid for (cost of the book, multiplied by the current exchange rate, plus a R$15.00 replacement fee, as well as shipping). You will only be able to check out when all charges are paid for. 

Students will be able to check out during recess and while the library is open.  

Parents can check out when visiting the library or by putting books on hold in Destiny, the virtual library catalog, and as soon as it's sorted, we will email them to pick up the book at the library.  

To return the books, parents can drop them off at the front desk or directly at the library. 

Important: the bin to drop off the books at the front gate is no longer available.

Realizaremos um ato cívico onde iremos agradecer à Deus pelo Brasil, por nos trazer até este momento e pelo que Ele já tem preparado para o futuro da nossa nação. 

A celebração será rápida, algo em torno de 15 minutos.

Protocolos de Covid  

Sabemos que muitos protocolos relacionados à COVID foram relaxados ou mesmo extintos, tais como o uso obrigatório de máscaras, distanciamentos, barreiras acrílicas etc. Mas não esqueceremos as boas práticas de higiene que são importantes para a segurança de todos! Os alunos continuarão sendo incentivados a lavar as mãos, usar o higienizador de mãos que permanece disponível nas salas de aula, no refeitório e em outras áreas da escola. Pedimos aos pais que continuem incentivando seus filhos a manter estas boas práticas. 

Testes MAP
