Sevenstar Academy - Online Program
PACA offers an online program through a partnership with SEVENSTAR ACADEMY for our students in grades 6-12. The information below provides an introduction as to how you might be able to benefit from this program.
Advantages of PACA's online program:
1. Sevenstar offers Christian-based, comprehensive, challenging curriculum, with a wide range of available courses.
2. Flexibility for participating PACA families, as courses can be accessed via internet anywhere, anytime.
3. A qualified instructor available in each subject area who will be responsible for setting up appropriate student learning pace, answering student course content and process questions via email and phone, maintaining periodic personal contact, and providing all grading and student feedback in a professional and timely manner.
ONLINE OPTIONS for GRADES 6-12
Option #1: PACA Online, off campus program
PACA families that are away for one or more semesters may continue meeting curriculum requirements by taking all or as many courses as needed online until their return to PACA’s campus. For all students, 6-12, an online instructor will be assigned to each student for each Sevenstar online class in which they are enrolled. The online instructor will be available to set up the appropriate student learning pace, answer student course content and process questions via email and phone, maintain periodic personal contact and will complete all of the grading.
Option #2: PACA Online, supplemental courses
Students desiring to enroll in courses in addition to those offered on campus at PACA may do so online through Sevenstar. Supplemental courses can meet students remedial needs (as recuperation for failing an on campus course) as well as to maximize college preparation, through Dual-Enrollment or additional AP courses which can earn university-level credits at a lower cost. Traditional PACA students may choose to take one or more Sevenstar online courses with registrar approval under the instruction of an online Sevenstar teacher, supported and supervised by PACA’s Online Coordinator.
Getting started:
NOTE: PACA will only support and give credit for courses that are taken following these steps.
1. Interested students may only proceed with an online program option after receiving the approval of PACA’s secondary principal.
2. Once approval is received the student will communicate with the Registrar to determine together a fitting plan of study
3. Next, the Online Coordinator will enroll the student with Sevenstar under PACA’s account
4. At this point, PACA will register the student. Courses are offered beginning every Monday of the year, for which students must be registered by the preceding Wednesday
5. Tuition is paid directly to PACA and can be received into either the school’s Brazilian or American accounts
