MAP is Measures of Academic Progress®. It creates a personalized assessment experience by adapting to each student’s learning level—precisely measuring student progress and growth for each individual. MAP delivers data when it matters most: when there’s still time to make a difference in student progress. 2nd-5th grade students will take 3 evaluations: Language, Reading and Math. Kindergarten and 1st grade students will take 2 evaluations: Reading and Math. These evaluations will be done in-person, and will be spread out over the weeks of August and September. Students will be given less classwork and activities to complete on their evaluation days, which will allow them to focus and do their best during the assessment. The individual evaluations will take around 45-90 minutes to complete. Please make sure that your child gets plenty of rest and eats a good breakfast in anticipation of their assessments. Please also provide emotional support, reminding your child to do their best but also that this is a special kind of test designed to figure out what they know and is not tied to their grades.
