To determine an applicant's readiness to meet the standards of our school and the demands of our American or American/Brazilian curriculum, the Admissions Office considers a student's academic record, language abilities, social and emotional characteristics, recommendations from teachers, and parental commitment to the child's educational development. Most families will have an interview to discuss curriculum, expectations, and match.
1st grade through High School applicants are required to participate in an assessment. Pre-school and Kindergarten candidates are interviewed to verify their stage of development and educational readiness for the educational program. Once we receive a student's application and if there is space available, the school will call or email you to schedule a date for an assessment (limited spaces available).
We receive applications and documentation requested by mail (see our address below) or online through this link: https://paca.wetransfer.com/. We ask for the following documents to be submitted with the application: photo, copy of birth certificate, copy of passport or Brazilian identification card (RG or RNE), letter of recommendation and copy of school records or official school transcripts.
Important Dates for Applications: 1. To be considered for August placement, applications have to be turned in by March 1. 2. To be considered for January placement, applications have to be turned in by November 1. Please keep in mind that we receive between 100-150 applications for very few openings. Because of the competitive ratio of applications to spots available, it is important to submit a completed student application and all the documents requested (photo, copy of birth certificate, copy of passport or Brazilian identification card (RG or RNE), letter of recommendation and copy of school records or official school transcripts).
These are the steps to apply for admissions at PACA:
copy of school records or official school transcripts.
Transfer Students: PACA considers credits from accredited high schools. Official transcripts must be obtained from those institutions before credit can be officially given. Copies of transcripts must be presented for enrollment.
Students from Alternative Educational Programs: PACA welcomes applications from students who have been home schooled. Applicants should submit documentation that substantiates curriculum used and assessment instruments, including standardized tests and report cards. Home school applicants for high school must also submit an official transcript from an authorized home school documenting institution or from the home school program where the student is enrolled.
For admissions into:
Pre-K1 - students must be at least 3 years old by August 31.
Pre-K2 - students must be at least 4 years old by August 31.
Kindergarten - students must be at least 5 years old by August 31.
2. If a spot is available for a grade placement, we will contact you to set up an entrance assessment. Because of the competitive ratio of applications to spots available, we will assess several applicants at the same time.
3. 1st grade through High School applicants are required to participate in an assessment. Pre-school and Kindergarten candidates are interviewed to verify their stage of development and educational readiness for the educational program.
4. Family interviews with the school administration are scheduled with students who satisfactorily pass the English proficiency evaluation and meet the school's criteria for academic readiness.
Confirmation of admission is made through the school office after the above requirements have been met.
