No School There will be no school from February 8 -10, due to the Carnaval holiday. February 11 and 12 are full school days. Professional Development Afternoon All students will be dismissed at 12:20 p.m. on Friday, February 19, due to the teachers’ professional development afternoon. The school buses will leave PACA at 12:55 p.m. Students in Pre-K – 12th grade will eat lunch on campus before dismissal. Candlelight Dinner It's February, and the juniors’ traditional Candlelight Dinner is coming up! Buy your tickets soon before they sell out. Tickets purchased this week will cost R$ 45. See you on February 20! Gym Closed The gym will be closed for all activities from February 15 - 22, due to the upcoming Candlelight Dinner. Calendar Change: Middle School Rafting Trip  The date for the middle school rafting trip has changed. The 6th – 8th grade students will go rafting on the Juquiá River on Thursday, February 25 – the trip was originally scheduled for February 26. They will leave PACA at 8:10 a.m. and return by 5:30 p.m. The bus will make stops along the Marginal on the way home, so that parents can meet their children at the designated places (the BR gas station near Eusébio Matoso, Extra-Baby Beef or SP Market). The rafting will be supervised by the Canoar Group. They are excellent instructors and very safety conscious. Students will need to work in groups to help guide their boat down the river. The purpose of this trip is to teach teamwork as they face this adventure. Sports Our girls won their first game of the season (3 x 0), and our boys lost (6 x 5). Thank you to all that came and supported our teams on February 2. Sports Calendar Update: We will have home varsity girls’ volleyball and JV and varsity boys’ futsal games on Friday, February 12, against EAC. The games will start at 6 p.m. Please come cheer for our JV boys as they play the first game of the season! Support our varsity teams as well. Our away JV and varsity volleyball and futsal games against St. Paul´s will be on February 16 at 5 p.m. These games were originally scheduled for February 4. The new sports calendar has been added to the Junior Varsity and Varsity pages on Edline. Please visit these pages for athletic information and for any changes that might occur throughout the semester. Parents of student-athletes, at the end of the volleyball and futsal season, we will have a sports tournament at NR-II. If your child has been practicing, there is a possibility that he/she will be chosen to participate in the tournament. The cost for the tournament is high, so please begin to think of ways to raise funds. Fundraising and financial aid forms are available on the Sports Edline pages and also with Mrs. Buchanan. Please obtain a form before you start your fundraising. Library News All vacation library books are due tomorrow, February 5. Haverá aula em período integral nos dias 11 e 12 de fevereiro. Tarde de Capacitação Profissional Os alunos serão dispensados às 12h20 na sexta-feira, dia 19 de fevereiro, devido à tarde de capacitação profissional dos professores. Os ônibus escolares sairão da PACA às 12h55. Os alunos da pré-escola ao 12º ano almoçarão na escola antes de serem liberados. Jantar à Luz de Velas (Candlelight Dinner) Já estamos em fevereiro, e isso quer dizer que o tradicional Jantar à Luz de Velas, organizado pelos alunos do 11º ano, está chegando! Ingressos comprados essa semana custarão apenas R$ 45. Esperamos vê-los no dia 20 de fevereiro!  Ginásio Fechado O ginásio estará fechado para todas as atividades de 15 a 22 de fevereiro, devido aos preparativos para o Jantar à Luz de Velas.   Alteração ao Calendário: Rafting para Alunos do Middle School A data da viagem dos alunos do 6º ao 8º ano para Juquitiba mudou. Os alunos farão canoagem no Rio Juquiá na quinta-feira, 25 de fevereiro – a viagem estava marcada para 26 de fevereiro. Os alunos sairão da PACA às 8h10 e retornarão por volta das 17h30. Na volta, o ônibus fará paradas pela Marginal Pinheiros para facilitar o encontro entre pais e filhos. Os pontos de encontro são: o posto BR próximo à Eusébio Matoso, Baby Beef do Extra Morumbi ou SP Market). O rafting será supervisionado pelo Grupo Canoar, que tem excelentes instrutores que se preocupam muito com segurança. Os alunos trabalharão em grupos para descer com o barco rio abaixo. O propósito dessa viagem é ensinar os alunos a trabalharem em grupos enquanto eles encaram essa aventura Esportes As meninas ganharam o primeiro jogo da temporada (3 x 0), e os meninos perderam (6 x 5). Agradecemos a todos que torceram pela PACA no dia 02 de fevereiro. Atualização do Calendário Esportivo:  O time feminino de vôlei do varsity e os times masculinos de futsal do JV e do varsity jogarão em casa contra a EAC na sexta-feira, dia 12 de fevereiro, a partir das 18 horas. Venham torcer pelos meninos do JV em seu primeiro jogo da temporada! Apoiem os times do varsity também! Os times de vôlei e de futsal do JV e do varsity jogarão na St. Paul’s no dia 16 de fevereiro, às 17 horas. Esses jogos estavam originalmente marcados para o dia 04 de fevereiro. O novo calendário esportivo está disponível nas páginas do Junior Varsity e Varsity no Edline. Por favor, visitem essas páginas para saber mais informações sobre os esportes e para acompanhar quaisquer mudanças que acontecerão durante o semestre. Pais dos atletas, ao fim da temporada de vôlei e futsal, acontecerá um torneio no NR-II. Caso o seu filho esteja treinando com os times, há a possibilidade que ele seja selecionado para participar do torneio. O custo para participar do torneio é alto, portanto comecem a pensar em maneiras de arrecadar fundos. Formulários para arrecadação de fundos e solicitação de ajuda financeira estão disponíveis nas páginas do Esporte no Edline e também com a Mrs. Buchanan. Por favor, obtenham um formulário antes de começar a levantar fundos. Notícias da Biblioteca Os livros retirados para as férias deverão ser devolvidos para a biblioteca até amanhã, dia 05 de fevereiro.
