PACA sent two teams to the AASB middle school Math Counts competition at EAB last week. Our school was represented by: Edward Cho, Lucas Teixeira (7th grade), Christopher Bann, Richard Bann, Gabriela Jang, Vitor Seramisu and Fernando Thomé (8th grade).  PACA’s B team, made up by Richard Bann, Advik Johari, Vitor Seramisu and Lucas Teixeira, received the 2nd place trophy in group competition. PACA’s A team, made up by Christopher Bann, Edward Cho, Gabriela Jang and Fernando Thomé, received the 3rd place trophy in the group competition.  PACA had four finalists in the individual competition: Fernando Thome (10th place), Richard Bann (9th place), Edward Cho (8th place) and Vitor Seramisu (4th place). Congratulations to our students!

International Festival

This year’s International Festival will take place on Saturday, March 18. Tickets are already on sale in the office at a discounted price.

Parent Teacher Student (PTS) Conferences

Parent, Teacher, Student Conferences are coming up in three weeks. Our office staff is already contacting parents to set up appointments to meet with teachers on Thursday, April 6.  Students in Kindergarten - 12th grade need to accompany their parents to the meetings. Please arrive 30 minutes before your first appointment. This will give you time to look over your child’s portfolio, and prevent the conferences from running late. High school and middle school students that were on the honor roll during 1st and 2nd quarters are exempt from second semester conferences. If your child is exempt from conferences, but you would like to meet with the teachers, you are welcome to do so. Parents, we ask that you take a quick survey in the computer lab before or after your child’s meetings.

Biology Trip

Prof. Silvano, Mrs. Zuercher, Mr. Rugg and Mr. Dewey will travel with the sophomore class from March 22 - 24 for an ecological field trip to Marujá, on Ilha do Cardoso, near the southern border of the state of São Paulo. The purpose of the trip is to see the glory of God’s creation and for students to experience different ecosystems found in Brazil. They will have the opportunity to hike through the Atlantic rainforest and swim in waterfall, an estuary and a mangrove swamp. Students will identify the structure and composition of each system then compare and contrast them in terms of temperature, elevation, moisture, sunlight, animals, plants and soil types. The trip also provides plenty of time for relaxing, class bonding and worship.

Chemistry/History Trip

From March 22 - 24, the juniors will visit the Parque Estadural Turístico do Alto da Ribeira (PETAR Project). They will explore caves and visit the preserved part of the Atlantic rainforest, where there are several rivers, pools and waterfalls. They will also visit the Ivaporunduva Quilombo (a former runaway slave community), where they will have contact with the locals when they go on a tour of the quilombo and to a presentation about its historical and cultural aspects.

Science Fair & Art Show

The Science Fair, Art Show and Library Sale is coming. Reserve May 5 on your calendars!

Festival Internacional
