News from the Elementary Principal
I can’t believe that this year’s reading contest, “READ around the world,” is almost over. Please remember to turn in your last reading slip by Friday (Monday at the latest!).

We will have our ice cream treat next Tuesday, October 29, in the afternoon.

Please remember to bring in your money for books for Casa Semear and any used books you may have.

It’s been a great month and fun to see kids excited about reading!

Please keep in mind that after the reading contest is over, students may wear this black shirt as a uniform option in addition to their PACA polo. The black school theme shirt does not take the place of the PE shirt.

News from the Guidance Counselor
Here is a list of the next college visits and fairs that will happen for our high school students. Please remember that parents are invited to attend. If you have any questions, e-mail me at [email protected].

> October 24, at 8:10 a.m. in the auditorium – Hamilton College, Kalamazoo College and Rhodes College: Hamilton is in New York. Kalamazoo is in Michigan, and Rhodes is in Tennessee. All three colleges are liberal arts institutions with enrollment between 1300 – 2000 students;

> November 18 at 11:35 a.m. in the computer lab – Goshen College. This is a Christian, liberal arts institution in Indiana that has about 1000 undergraduate students.

No School
There will be no school on Friday, November 1, due to a teacher professional development day. The school office will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

News from the Secondary Principal
We are excited to announce that over fifty of our high school students will be competing in soccer, basketball, and cheerleading at the Big 8 tournament in Campos do Jordão, from November 12 to 16. The athletes have been practicing hard, and many have been working on raising funds to help their parents pay for their expenses. A big thanks to all that have helped make the fund raisers happen and to those who have purchased food and treats at games or PTS conferences.

For those who will not go to the tournament, we will adjust our school schedule, due to the number of high school students that will be gone.

> On Monday, November 11, classes will be held as normal for all grades.
> On Tuesday and Wednesday, November 12 &13, the freshmen and seniors will have classes as normal. Sophomores and juniors will not have classes.
> On Thursday, November 14, there will be no classes for high school students.

Teachers may have assignments for students to work on during this week. Students who will not have classes, but would like to schedule a review time with a teacher may do so. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the school.

> 24 de outubro, às 8h10, no auditório – Hamilton College, Kalamazoo College e Rhodes College: Hamilton fica em Nova Iorque. Kalamazoo em Michigan, e Rhodes no Tennessee. As três faculdades oferecem bacharelados interdisciplinares, e têm entre 1300 e 2000 alunos;

Notícias do Diretor do Ensino Médio
