Pre-K – 8th grade Orientation (Open House)
The administration looks forward to introducing our teachers to parents at the Pre-K through 8th grade orientation (Open House) this Saturday, August 17, starting at 9 a.m. On this day, Pre-K through 8th grade families will have the opportunity to meet their children’s teachers, see their classrooms and hear the teachers’ expectations. Childcare will be provided for PACA students in Pre-K1 through 5th grade. The general assembly will begin at 11 a.m. in the gym. After the assembly in the gym, the middle school students will accompany their parents to their classroom sessions. The middle school sessions will start at 12 p.m. and end at 1 p.m.

Community Picnic
Following the Pre-K – 8th grade orientation, we will have our annual community picnic, from 12 to 4 p.m. This event is for PACA families only. There is no admissions charge. The school will provide a picnic lunch, organized games for children and parents, rides, sports and fun.

Late Start and Early Dismissal Days
Recent research in international education shows that one of the characteristics of successful schools is a high level of collaboration among the staff. We would like to improve the collaboration among our staff at PACA. This has always been a challenge, since it is impossible to find a time during the day when everyone is free. Therefore, we will be an early dismissal day, which would give us an hour of collaboration time for teachers.

According to the school calendar, August 26 would be a late start day, where students would arrive at PACA at 9 a.m., instead of 8 a.m. Due to traffic pattern modifications and further studies with the company that provides transportation for our school, it seems nearly impossible to go forward with the plan to have late start day on August 26. Late start days are postponed indefinitely.
Please mark your calendars that students will be dismissed an hour early on September 20. There will no sports practices that day.

News from the Guidance Counselor

Updating Information
On the first day of school, all students received a Student Information Sheet and medical forms. The information requested is extremely important for student safety. Completed forms were due on August 9. We are still missing documents from several students. If your child needs another copy of the forms, he/she may pick it up at the front office.

A entrada é franca. Serviremos um almoço, estilo piquenique. Haverá jogos, brincadeiras e diversão para adultos e crianças.

Alteração no Horário Escolar
