As aulas presenciais passam a ser obrigatórias a partir do dia 3 de novembro...

Presential Classes Are Mandatory
October 28, 2021

Dear PACA Parents and Students,

We hope you have been encouraged by the return to presential classes this semester. It has been good to have our students back on campus.

We want to make you aware of the decree from the Secretary of Education for the State of São Paulo that states beginning October 18 presential classes are now mandatory, except for the following cases:
  • Young people belonging to the risk group, over 12 years old, who have not completed their vaccination cycle against COVID-19.
  • Children under 12 years old belonging to the risk group for COVID-19, for whom there is no vaccine against COVID-19 approved in the country.
  • Students with more fragile health conditions than COVID-19, even with the complete vaccination cycle, proven with a medical prescription to remain in remote activities.
  • Young pregnant and postpartum women.

Beginning November 3, there are significant changes to our learning environment. The most significant is that the school will no longer offer hybrid online classes, unless an entire class needs to be quarantined. Attendance, excused/unexcused absences, illness, make-up work and many other policies will now be in full effect according to our Student Handbook.

We ask all parents to review the School Routine found on pages 14-16 of the Student Handbook. Here are some examples of policies to keep in mind:
  • All students are expected to attend presential classes every day. Consistent daily attendance and adherence to the class time schedule from 8:00 am to 3:25 pm are mandatory for students and teachers.
  • Families planning multiple-day absences need to inform the school one week before traveling, so that the teacher can prepare make-up work.
  • School policy states that if a student misses 15% of scheduled classes for whatever reason, credit will not be given for the course. Multiple excused or unexcused absences may incur further consequences.
  • If a student is sick or unexpectedly absent from school, his/her parent should call or e-mail the school office ([email protected]), before 8:10 a.m. on the day of the absence. (This is, first of all, a security measure and secondly helps our teachers keep track of each student’s progress.)
  • Students and parents are responsible to follow the make-up work policy.

Please familiarize yourself with the school’s Student Handbook 2021-2022 found at https://www.paca.com.br/uploads/1/1/8/0/11808026/2021-2022-student-handbook-paca.pdf.

Our protocols are being reviewed by a contracted company (Escola Segura) and adjusted according to government guidelines.

We have been eagerly waiting to return to a more normal teaching and learning environment. We see the difference presential classes make in the learning and overall growth of each student.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact [email protected].

We are grateful that you have chosen PACA to be the school for your child.

Yours sincerely,

School Leadership

P.S. The Student Handbook 2021-2022 can be found at https://www.paca.com.br/uploads/1/1/8/0/11808026/2021-2022-student-handbook-paca.pdf.

..........................

  • Jovens grávidas e mulheres no pós-parto.

Sinceramente,

Diretoria
