Word from the Superintendent

Dear Parents, Students, Teachers, and Friends of PACA,

I am overwhelmed with a profound sense of pride and appreciation during our Last Day Assembly. It marks the end of another year, but for me, my wife, and family, it signifies the successful completion of our first school year at PACA. This is a moment to look back on the journey we have experienced together and to rejoice in our collective accomplishments.

I extend my gratitude to all students for their hard work, perseverance, and innovation that have made this academic year truly memorable. Your dedication to academic excellence and participation in extracurricular activities like Little Warriors, Big 8, Little 8, Knowledge Bowl, Beauty and the Beast, Candlelight, and various other events have been commendable.

Our committed faculty and staff serve as the essential foundation of our students' development. They have not only imparted knowledge but also integrated valuable Biblical teachings into their lessons, inspiring our students to aspire for greatness in the name of Jesus.

To the parents, I express my thanks for your unwavering support and prayers as we collaborated in your child's educational journey. We appreciate the trust you have placed in us to educate your children in the ways of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Looking back on this academic year, we have witnessed numerous academic achievements and participated in various events and competitions. While we encountered challenges along the way, our resilience and hard work enabled us to overcome them, finishing the year on a strong note.

As we gaze toward the future, I urge everyone to continue striving for excellence for the glory and honor of God. The skills and knowledge acquired are valuable tools that will guide us on the path ahead.

Although some of you may not be returning, I am grateful for the time we have spent together. Learning is a continuous journey, with each step building upon the last. There may be setbacks, but remember that you are never alone. Jesus is always by your side.

In conclusion, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for an incredible school year. Enjoy your well-deserved break and come back refreshed for another exciting year of learning.

Durante nossa Assembleia do Último Dia, estou emocionado com um profundo sentimento de orgulho e apreço. Marca o fim de mais um ano, mas para mim, minha esposa e família, significa a conclusão bem-sucedida de nosso primeiro ano letivo na PACA. Este é um momento para olhar para trás na jornada que vivemos juntos e regozijar-nos em nossas conquistas coletivas.

Expresso minha gratidão a todos os alunos pelo trabalho árduo, perseverança e inovação que tornaram este ano letivo verdadeiramente memorável. Sua dedicação à excelência acadêmica e participação em atividades extracurriculares como Little Warriors, Big 8, Little 8, Knowledge Bowl, Beauty and the Beast, Candlelight e vários outros eventos têm sido dignos de elogios.

Nossa equipe docente e funcionários comprometidos servem como a base essencial do desenvolvimento de nossos alunos. Eles não apenas transmitiram conhecimento, mas também integraram valiosos ensinamentos bíblicos em suas lições, inspirando nossos alunos a aspirar pela grandeza em nome de Jesus.

Aos pais, expresso meu agradecimento por seu apoio inabalável e orações enquanto colaboramos na jornada educacional de seu filho. Agradecemos a confiança que vocês depositaram em nós para educar seus filhos nos caminhos de nosso Senhor e Salvador Jesus Cristo.

Olhando para trás neste ano letivo, testemunhamos inúmeras conquistas acadêmicas e participamos de vários eventos e competições. Embora tenhamos enfrentado desafios ao longo do caminho, nossa resiliência e trabalho árduo nos permitiram superá-los, encerrando o ano de forma positiva.

Ao olharmos para o futuro, exorto a todos a continuarem buscando a excelência para a glória e honra de Deus. As habilidades e conhecimentos adquiridos são ferramentas valiosas que nos guiarão no caminho à frente.

Apesar de alguns de vocês não estarem retornando, estou grato pelo tempo que passamos juntos. A aprendizagem é uma jornada contínua, com cada passo construindo sobre o anterior. Pode haver contratempos, mas lembre-se de que você nunca está sozinho. Jesus está sempre ao seu lado.

Em conclusão, quero expressar minha sincera apreciação por um incrível ano escolar. Aproveite suas merecidas férias e volte renovado para mais um ano emocionante de aprendizado.

A Moreninha...

Os alunos do 8º ano leram o livro "A MORENINHA" de Joaquim Manuel de Macedo no primeiro semestre para uma das disciplinas de Português Literatura. No segundo semestre, foi realizada a apresentação teatral da obra.

O livro retrata os costumes e a organização da sociedade que se formava no século XIX no Rio de Janeiro: os estudantes de medicina, os bailes, a tradição da festa de Sant'Ana, o flerte das moças, entre outros.

Resumo. Uma história leve e divertida de amor entre um jovem estudante e uma bela moreninha nos salões do Rio de Janeiro colonial. Inicialmente publicada como folhetim, tornou-se um dos retratos mais famosos dos costumes do Brasil Império, inaugurando uma tradição nacional no gênero.

Parabéns aos nossos alunos do 8º ano pelo seu excepcional empenho, colaboração, inovação e talentos artísticos. Estamos muito orgulhosos do seu trabalho árduo e os elogiamos por suas conquistas notáveis.

The 8th grade students read the book "A MORENINHA" by Joaquim Manuel de Macedo in the first semester for one of their Portuguese Literature classes. In the second semester, a theatrical presentation of the work was performed.

The book portrays the customs and organization of society that was forming in the 19th century in Rio de Janeiro: medical students, balls, the tradition of the feast of Sant'Ana, the flirting of the young ladies, among others.

Summary. A light and entertaining story of love between a young student and a beautiful moreninha in the salons of colonial Rio de Janeiro. Initially published as a serial, it became one of the most famous portrayals of the customs of the Brazilian Empire, inaugurating a national tradition in the genre.

Congratulations to our 8th-grade students for their exceptional dedication, collaboration, innovation, and artistic talents. We take immense pride in their hard work and commend them for their remarkable achievements.

After the Last Day Assembly tomorrow, swing by the Secretaries Office to grab your family's very own copy of the 2023-2024 yearbook. It's completely free for each PACA family (one per family), so don't miss out on this special keepsake.

If you're interested in purchasing an additional yearbook, we have a limited number of extra copies available. Simply shoot an email to Rosa Tanaka at [email protected] to place your order and make the payment for a second yearbook. Remember, orders will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, so don't wait too long!

We can't wait to see you at the Secretaries Office to collect your family's edition of the Yearbook. It's going to be a fantastic memento of the incredible year we've had together.

The Canguru Mathematics Competition is the largest international mathematics competition in the world, with over 6 million participants each year in more than 95 countries.

Chromebook Vacation Plan

Dear Parents and Secondary Students,

As the school year comes to a close, secondary students who will be continuing at PACA next year are permitted to retain their Chromebooks over the vacation period. However, students who will not be returning must return their Chromebooks to the IT Department.

Those students should approach either myself or Rafael Bodri (located at the IT Department) to return the Chromebook along with the power cord.

The returned devices will undergo evaluation. Should any issues be detected with the Chromebook, it will be necessary to send it to the factory for repairs, with the associated costs to be covered by the family.

By following this procedure, students will be equipped to use their computers on the first day of the 24/25 school year. We will only need to distribute devices to new secondary students and incoming 6th graders.

Please inform the students about this process, emphasizing the importance of taking good care of the computers during the vacation period and ensuring they are ready for use upon our return to school on July 29, 2024.

Prezados Pais e Alunos do E.F. II e E.M.,

À medida que o ano letivo chega ao fim, os alunos do Ensino Fundamental II e Ensino Médio que continuarão na PACA no próximo ano estão autorizados a manter seus Chromebooks durante o período de férias. No entanto, os alunos que não retornarão devem devolver seus Chromebooks ao Departamento de TI.

Esses alunos devem abordar tanto a mim quanto Rafael Bodri (localizado no Departamento de TI) para devolver o Chromebook juntamente com o cabo de alimentação.

Os dispositivos devolvidos passarão por uma avaliação. Caso sejam detectados problemas com o Chromebook, será necessário enviá-lo à fábrica para reparos, com os custos associados a serem cobertos pela família.

Seguindo este procedimento, os alunos estarão equipados para usar seus computadores no primeiro dia do ano letivo de 24/25. Apenas precisaremos distribuir dispositivos para novos alunos do ensino secundário e alunos do 6º ano.

Por favor, informem os alunos sobre este processo, enfatizando a importância de cuidar bem dos computadores durante o período de férias e garantindo que estejam prontos para uso quando retornarmos à escola em 29 de julho de 2024.
