Spending one week to know the vital source of life...

Dear Friend of PACA, It’s Monday. It’s rainy. The buses are late. What? We have chapel today? You can hear the collective groan.  Life is hard and making time for God to speak to us is a battle. This is why we take a week this semester for Spiritual Emphasis – we know connecting to God is vital. And this week a student’s heart can be changed for eternity! The annual Spiritual Emphasis Week challenges high school students to make God their most vital source of life! Each day this week there is a time of singing lead by high school students and a message by a special guest speaker. Our special guest speaker is Mr. Philip Chang. His message today was “getting real,” challenging us to make Jesus our treasure. “For where your treasure is, there will your heart also be.” (Matthew 6:21) Mr. Chang is a PACA father to two girls and a Biola-Talbot Graduate. He and his wife, Fabiana, have returned to São Paulo to start a multiethnic church plant. And he is passionate about Jesus. Which is why we need your prayers! Our battle is not just physical – it is spiritual. And in the balance, is a student’s heart. We ask for your prayers in these three areas this week: 1.  That our student’s minds be enriched by God’s Word . 2.  For their hearts to grow in love for Jesus . 3.  That they will put their faith into action . The week culminates on Saturday with Outreach Day – a day to put their faith into action. Outreach Day is an opportunity for our high school students to be salt and light in the community by serving those in need. They will help six different non-profit organizations (Casa Semear, Lar Efrata, Lar Tia Edna, Geração Vida Nova – Interlagos, Geração Vida Nova – Aeroporto and IBTE) scattered around the city. Your prayers can help change a student’s heart ! Simone Mulieri Twibel - Class of 2002: Paca was important in so many ways and at so many levels. It not only prepared me academically for college and subsequent postgraduate degrees, but also awakened my interest in sports which I had never formally participated in before, helping me get ready to join track and field at the college level. It also benefited me spiritually, through the chapels and wonderful role models I encountered in teachers, administrators and students. Overall, Paca was one of the best and rare opportunities and privileges the Lord gave me in life. Mrs. Denise, my chemistry teacher, was very influential in displaying a life of prayer and commitment to missions.
