Library Use
​The library is a learning center where students are welcome to read, check out books, research, or spend their study time.  Students are invited to come before and after school, between classes, or during recess. During class time, passes are required to come to the library. Be aware that the library is not a public space for parents during school hours due to classes and students/teachers use.  Parents may use the library   after school, from 3:30-4:00pm on weekdays, except for certain Wednesdays when we close at 3:30 p.m.

Fines Information
  • Kindergarten and 1st Grade students are exempt from late fees; however, starting from 2nd Grade, late fees will be charged for overdue books.
  •  Fees must be paid directly to the library in cash. We do not accept PIX or add charges to the school invoice. 
  • We recommend that parents give the money to their children so they can pay the fines themselves, fostering responsibility.
  • Books not returned within one month of the due date will be considered lost, and the replacement cost will need to be paid.
Overdue Items
  • Every Monday, we send printed notifications to students with overdue books to remind them of the return.
    • Elementary students:
      • Notifications are delivered to the teachers.
      • Teachers forward the notifications to the parents.
    • Secondary students:
      • Notifications are delivered directly to the students.
      • Students receive around four notifications before the overdue period reaches 30 days.
      • It is the students' responsibility to inform their parents and/or return the book.
  •   After 30 days of overdue status, if the book is not returned, we contact the parents about the replacement cost.  
  • For books considered lost or damaged, a three-business-day period is provided for payment.
Lost and Damaged Books
  • Books not returned within one month of the due date will be considered lost, and the replacement cost will need to be paid.
  • A fee will be charged for replacing lost or damaged materials.
  • The fee will be based on the cost of the item and may include a percentage if the book can still be kept in the library's collection.
  • The cost of a lost or damaged item is based on:
    • The item's value,
    • Shipping and handling charges,
    • Processing fees (currently R$15.00),
    • Exchange rate, if the item is imported.
  • Please note that paying this fee does not mean the damaged book is purchased; the item will remain the property of the library. Withdrawn books are repurposed through book sales, swaps, or donated to second-hand bookstores.​
Library Checkouts​
  • When borrowing a book, the due date will be stamped on the back inside cover.​
  • Checkout is not available if the patron:
    • Has overdue books,
    • Has unpaid fines, or
    • Has exceeded the checkout limit.
