Library Use Policies

Library Use 

The library is a learning center where students are welcome to read, check out books, research, or spend their study time.  Students are invited to come before and after school, between classes, or during lanchinho. During class time, passes are required to come to the library. Parents are also welcome to check out books and use the library after school, from 3:20-4:00pm on weekdays.

Checkout is not available if the patron (1) has overdue books, (2) has unpaid fines, or (3) has exceeded the checkout limit.

*Kindergarten and Grade 1 are exempt from fines.

Lost/Damaged Items

Patrons will be assessed a fee for replacement of lost or damaged materials they have checked out.  The cost of a lost item is calculated based on (1) the value of the item, (2) shipping and handling charges, (3) processing fees, and (4) the exchange rate. Once paid for, the item belongs to the patron.
