If you are looking for a recent summer hit that was popular at the box office and continues to impress audiences with its fast-paced racing scenes, then the “F1: The Movie” is the one you want to see. This Apple Original Film is directed by Joseph Kosinski and the main cast is Brad Pitt and Damson Idriss. The movie was released in June 2025 and was a major success in terms of revenue.

The movie made an estimated six hundred and thirty one million dollars in its initial release to movie theaters. According to Motorsport.com, it earned a record breaking $144 million in its global debut. This movie is the first success story for the company since they started trying to produce their own movies.

This is something that Zack Van Amburg, who is the head of Apple’s worldwide video, can be proud of. To understand the draw of audiences to the movie, it is necessary to look at the storyline within it.

The movie begins with an old F1 veteran who is invited to join Apex GP, a struggling F1 team. His name is Sonny Hayes and he has two roles in the team. The first one is to mentor Joshua Pierce, a F1 rookie who has great potential. The second is to be a competitive driver and help Apex regain its glory. The movie shows how the drivers are different and the development of the team as the season progresses.

The highlight of “F1: the Movie” is its dynamic shooting, the realism of the cars and its cutting edge technology. The manner in which it was filmed allowed the viewer to feel the g-force and the intensity of F1 racing. The actors also interpreted drivers perfectly showing that not always teammates get along with each other.

Personally, I really enjoyed watching “F1: the Movie”, because it was very interesting to see a sport I love be interpreted as a movie. It was also very well shot, the takes were full of action and dynamics. The movie was full of chaos until the last moment which I loved.

Personally I believe that all should watch the movie, because it is amazing in many ways. Even those who do not like cars would love the movie, because the movie is not just about racing. The movie highlights the journey to get to something and that is why it would be enjoyable to watch for all.

Although the movie has been available for purchase on some streaming platforms such as Amazon and Apple TV since late August, it will be possible for Apple TV subscribers to watch the movie as part of their subscription on Apple TV starting on December 15.
