At PACA, our curriculum is built on a simple foundation: all truth belongs to God.

This belief guides how we teach every subject—from math and science to language arts, fine arts, and physical education.

Teaching Principles

We help students understand the world through a Christian lens, encouraging them to explore, question, and grow. Teachers design learning experiences that are meaningful, challenging, and connected to biblical principles. Our goal is to help students see God’s hand in every area of life and understand their purpose in His story.

At PACA, we believe every human being is created in the image of God and endowed with the God-given capacity to know, learn, and seek truth. Students are not passive receivers of information nor self-sufficient creators of knowledge. Instead, learning takes place through the dynamic interaction of the learner, the curriculum, and the teacher—each playing a vital role in the pursuit of truth.

Scripture teaches that truth exists outside the human mind and that God created us with the ability to understand and respond to His revelation. With this understanding, the teacher’s role becomes essential: providing structure, clarity, and guidance while prompting students to think deeply through purposeful questions, activities, and discussions. Learning is therefore an active, thoughtful process shaped by both teacher instruction and student engagement.

Language Arts

Language arts are rooted in the truth that God is the supreme communicator (John 1:1). Through Scripture, God uses words, stories, and images to reveal Himself (Psalm 19:1–4). Jesus Himself taught through parables and narratives that conveyed spiritual truth (Luke 10:25–37).

Studying literature helps students understand the power of story and equips them to communicate the Gospel clearly to people of all nations (Matthew 28:18–20). As Christians, we learn to think, write, and speak truthfully so that we may represent Christ well in the world (1 Peter 3:15).

Portuguese – First Language

Portuguese instruction acknowledges God as the divine Author of language (John 1:1). Through words, God reveals His character, His commands, and His salvation. He has given us the ability to communicate—to listen, speak, read, and write—so that we might understand His principles and live them out. Language study reinforces God’s standards and strengthens students’ ability to communicate clearly and truthfully.

Portuguese as a Foreign Language

Teaching Portuguese as a second language reflects the truth that God is the supreme Communicator and that He calls us to engage with the world around us. Learning the local language is essential for understanding Brazilian culture and integrating into society. As global opportunities expand, multilingual communication becomes increasingly important for leadership and service. This course prepares students for both cultural engagement and future professional opportunities.

Science

Science begins with the foundational belief that God created the universe and sustains it moment by moment (Genesis 1:1; John 1:3; Psalm 104). Christians study creation to grow in awe of God’s greatness and to fulfill our responsibility to care for His world (Genesis 1:28). Understanding the natural world enables students to make wise, informed decisions that honor the Creator.

Social Sciences

The social sciences explore how humanity fulfills God’s cultural mandate—living in community, stewarding creation, and shaping culture (Genesis 9:1). Through these studies, students see evidence of both humanity’s fallen nature (Romans 3:23) and God’s sovereignty over history (Deuteronomy 4:39; Psalm 47:2, 8). Ultimately, social sciences help students understand relationships: between people, between people and the earth, and between people and God (Psalm 71:17–18).

Bible

The Bible is God’s inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word—the ultimate authority for truth and knowledge. Jesus teaches that we are to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind (Matthew 22:37). Bible courses therefore aim to connect head knowledge with heart transformation.

Students learn to understand Scripture, apply its principles, and cultivate a growing relationship with Christ. The Bible forms the foundation for all academic, social, and spiritual growth at PACA. Our goal is for students to develop disciplined study habits, a biblical worldview, and a lifelong love for God’s Word, responding to the Holy Spirit’s work in their lives.

Physical Education

Physical education recognizes that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19–20). God has gifted each person with unique abilities and calls us to use them diligently (Colossians 3:23). Through various physical activities, students learn discipline, teamwork, and Christlike conduct—living at peace with others and practicing the Golden Rule (Hebrews 12:14; Luke 6:31).

Technology

Students learn to use technology responsibly and ethically, guided by biblical principles. They develop proficiency in digital tools while learning to evaluate technology through a moral and spiritual lens (Romans 12:2; Proverbs 2:6). Instruction emphasizes discernment, integrity, and practical application in real-world contexts, preparing students to honor God in a rapidly changing digital world.

Fine Arts

The fine arts inspire students to observe, appreciate, and reflect God’s beauty in creation. “The heavens declare the glory of God” (Psalm 19:1), and artistic expression allows students to explore and develop the creative gifts He has given them (Exodus 31:3). Through music, theater, and visual art, students learn to evaluate culture through a Christian worldview and to use their talents for God’s glory.
