Forrest Frank Turned a Back Injury Into a Song Opportunity with the hit song, “God’s Got My Back.”

On July 25, 2025, Forrest Frank, a gospel R&B artist, released a new song called “God’s Got My Back.” Currently, it has over 83,000 streams daily on Spotify.

A few days before the song’s release, Forrest Frank had suffered multiple back fractures from a skateboarding accident. After a fan commented on his video, “How will you make fire music with a broken back, bro?” Forrest Frank took that as a challenge and produced “God’s Got My Back” in spite of the pain he was going through.

In the song, Forrest Frank emphasizes how God is in control of the situations in our lives. The lyrics of the chorus express his trust in God during hard times. A portion of the lyrics show the primary message of the song:

God’s got my backEven when I fall or get attackedGod’s got my backEven when I’m low and full of lackGod’s got my backEven when my soul is full of sorrowI don’t have to worry about tomorrowWhy’s that?‘Cause God’s got my back.

Listening to the song after learning about how he made it, the lyrics are very inspiring and I can see how God works in His own unique way. It made me feel thankful for God’s unique and perfect plan for us.

His song starts off in the chorus with only vocals and acoustic guitar. Then, Forrest Frank uses the typical electronic instrumentation for R&B music with synthesizers, drum machines, and sound effects for the rest of the songs except for the bridge where it is only vocals and acoustic guitar again.

He had access to these tools at just the right time as his pastor had just encouraged him a few weeks prior to start a musical journal of what God would be doing in his life. So, when he was injured, he had everything ready to produce music.

Forrest Frank’s back injury being turned into a song inspired many people, and just two weeks after the accident, he had recovered with no permanent damage to his back. God truly worked through him and blessed him greatly.

“God’s Got My Back” is a very inspiring song, especially during a hard day. This song can brighten your mood because God has a perfect plan for you. I highly recommend listening to this song because of the meaningful lyrics and beautiful song arrangement.
