Applying to PACA
To determine an applicant's readiness to meet the standards of our school and the demands of our curriculum, the Admissions Office considers a student's academic record, language abilities, social and emotional characteristics, recommendations from teachers, and parental commitment to the child's educational development. Kindergarten through High School candidates are tested for English proficiency, reading comprehension, writing, and mathematics.   Most families will have an interview to discuss curriculum, expectations, and match.

These are the steps to apply for admissions at PACA:

1.  Send a completed Student Application form to the school before April.  You will also need to send a photo, copy of birth certificate, copy of passport or Brazilian identification card (RG or RNE), and copy of school records or official school transcripts.

For admissions into: Pre-K1 - students must be at least 3 years old by August 31.
Pre-K2 - students must be at least 4 years old by August 31.
Kindergarten - students must be at least 4 years old by August 31.

2.  If a spot is available for a grade placement, we will contact you to set up an English proficiency evaluation.  Pre-school candidates are interviewed to verify their stage of development and educational readiness for the educational program.  We receive between 100-150 applications for 30 spots. Because of the competitive ratio of applications to spots available, it is important to pay close attention to postmark deadlines when completing the application and submitting all information.

3.  Kindergarten through High School students need to satisfactorily pass the English proficiency evaluation.

4.  Family interviews with the school administration are scheduled with students who satisfactorily pass the English proficiency evaluation.

Transfer Students:  PACA considers credits from accredited high schools.  Official transcripts must be obtained from those institutions before credit can be officially given.  Copies of transcripts must be presented for enrollment.

Students from Alternative Educational Programs:  PACA welcomes applications from students who have been home schooled.  Applicants should submit documentation that substantiates curriculum used and assessment instruments, including standardized tests and report cards.   Home school applicants for high school must also submit an official transcript from an authorized home school documenting institution or from the home school program where the student is enrolled.

Confirmation of admission is made through the school office after the above requirements have been met.
