Once more, the PACA Warriors are heading into another futsal season that will begin next semester. The soccer season just ended a few weeks ago, but the Warriors are already back at it, not on the field, but on the court this time.

With Nationals competitions out of the way and PACA finishing their last games of the first semester season of basketball and soccer, the Warrior athletes have time to rest and recover. Although there have been a few futsal pre-season practices throughout the first semester, they began more intently on Monday the 17th of November.

These few weeks of preparation before break, will be crucial for the strong return of the athletes after vacation. The first game for the season is scheduled for February 6, which is two weeks after students come back from classes.

One way this prep-season will contribute to a good start at the actual futsal season is adapting on the court and how the game is played. Because futsal and soccer are two different sports.

Not many athletes are able to attend the first few pre-season practices due to other events and final exams. However, the efforts made during these few, early practices will make the difference at the start of the next season.

Varsity Boys Coach, José Adriano, says that it is crucial that athletes come to practice.

”I believe that the pre-season will help our team a lot. Adapting to the hard court is very important, and if we do this before break, we will be able to get back with full intensity after break,” said Adriano.

Varsity boys futsal and soccer captain, Felipe Morales, says it is more than important to come to practice in this pre-season.

“If the boys start to practice now the boys can secure a good start to the futsal season,” said Morales.

Once the second semester begins, these practices will start in earnest, with daily practice times and some double practice days issues to fully prepare the boys and girls teams for their first games against EAC.
