The Elementary Reading Contest is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 30! Elementary students will participate in a full day of fun activities focused on reading and our theme of Cowboys, Cowgirls, and the wild west! A special lunch will also be served. Please note, the Reading Contest Kick-off day activities will only be for elementary students. A letter to parents with more details was sent home on September 18!  **Journalism Class** High School journalism, taught by Dr. Cristina Meier, is a class of energetic and enthusiastic 9th grade students who are ready to explore and to share topics that are useful and valuable to the PACA community. This week, the PACA Warrior Post, is set to publish their second edition of 15 unique stories written by our student reporters.  We want to invite you to visit the newspaper website and take a look at what they have written this week.  Feel free to comment or respond.  Here is the link to the site: THE WARRIOR POST. Bringing Joy For All People. **See You At the Pole** See You at the Pole (SYATP) is coming up this Wednesday, September 25.  Students and teachers will be gathering at the flagpole at 8am to praise and worship God and to lift up the prayers of our students for our school, our families, our community, Brazil and the world.   This year's theme is FIRST, PRAY and the verse is 1 Timothy 2:1.   BUT FIRST PRAY video Parents are free to join us at the PACA flag pole, as well.   **Elementary Mother’s Tea**  Elementary room moms are busy planning the class Mother’s Tea for this school year! It is a special time for moms to get to know each other, eat delicious snacks, and to encourage and pray for one another. Please be on the lookout for dates and more information from your class room mom soon!  **Character First** The Character First topics that we will focus on with elementary students this school year are: self-control, forgiveness, respect, gratefulness, and attentiveness.  We began our next Character First rotation on September 2, focused on the topic of forgiveness. Students will learn that forgiveness is “Letting go of bitterness and revenge.” During each rotation, elementary students participate in an assembly and small groups. As students learn and practice important characteristics, our goal is for them to grow in their personal relationships and in their relationship with God.    **Menu – September 23-27** Mon: Stewed beef cubes, potatoes, grated beetroot, arugula, tomatoes and mango, fruit Tue: Chicken with soy sauce, carrots, chinese cabbages, lettuce with tomatoes, sunomono, fruit Wed: Grilled pork chop, cornflake stuffing, collard greens with orange, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, banoffee pie Thu: Shredded beef (with onions and bell peppers), broccoli, lettuce with tomatoes, watercress, radishes with oranges, fruit Friday: Roasted chicken, white sauce with ham and peas, soybeans, vinaigrette, fruit  *Note: A second protein option is always available. Começamos o segundo tema do Character First no dia 2 de setembro, com foco no perdão. Os alunos estão aprendendo que o perdão é "Deixando de lado a amargura e a vingança." Durante cada sessão, os alunos participarão de uma assembleia e de pequenos grupos.
