Earlier this year, the country of Haiti was decimated with a 7.0 magnitude earthquake that killed an estimated 220,000 people, injuring more than 300,000, and leaving close to 1.5 million people homeless (sources: United Nations and CNN). Haiti, ranked the Western Hemisphere's poorest country and one of the world's least-developed nations (source: The Heritage Foundation),is still struggling to recover from the aftermaths of the earthquake tragedy. They are still in need of prayer and support.
PACA’s first response as a community to the crisis was to join the many donors and organizations from around the world in praying and raising funds to send to Haiti to aid in their recovery and need. Our first fundraising initiative, lead by PACA’s student council, raised a total of US$2,350.00, which was channeled through a sister Christian American school, Quisqueya Christian School,in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. At the beginning of the year, Quisqueya Christian School lost 80% of their student enrollment due to the complete destruction of the parents' businesses and homes. While the school’s buildings were spared from earthquake damage, every Haitian staff member of the school suffered huge losses, including several losing their children. Many are still rebuilding their homes. A great praise is that their student enrollment is up this new school year.
Now, PACA has another unique opportunity to bless our brothers and sisters in Haiti through Project PACA & Quisqueya (Haiti) – Bringing Hope and Encouragement. We will need your partnership through prayer and financial gifts. On November16through November 23, we are sending a team to bring a helping hand to the Quisqueya Christian School. This school is still in the process of rebuilding: physically, spiritually, and emotionally.
PACA’s team members to Haiti will help on several fronts: • Claudia Kuhnast (School Counselor) –helping the high school students with guidance and college counseling. • Silvano Kubo (Campus Pastor)– working with staff and students in counseling and encouragement. • Laurie Carpenter (English Teacher) and Joel Rast (6th Grade Teacher) – leading professional development workshops in the areas of reading and writing. • Alyssa Zuercher (StuCo Spiritual Life Coordinator and 10th grader) – encouraging fellow students and developing spiritual leadership.
We need your partnership to make Project PACA & Quisqueya (Haiti)happen. Your prayers will enable our team to effectively bring encouragement, hope and love. Your financial gift will help fund the airplane costs for PACA’s team and help the Quisqueya Christian School with much needed school supplies. Together we can lend a helping hand to a sister school who is making a difference in Haiti. Our financial goal is US$10,000.00 (R$17.500,00).

We want God's presence to be manifested during this project, as according to Psalm 32: 8 "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye."
